While the firewalk participants ran through their training and steadied their nerves for the all-important walk down the long pathways of burning hot coals, the spectators were looking on with a mix of awe and trepidation behind some Arbus temporary fencing.
Thankfully, the training that the firewalkers did earlier in the day paid off and they all managed to successfully complete the hottest stroll in town. It was a great night, supported by local businesses and the Mayor of Brighton, who came along as well.
There was plenty of entertainment to get everyone in the mood, including fire eaters and fire jugglers (very apt!). The lively Chameleonic Drummers provided a suitably atmospheric soundtrack to the night, and there was a bar and some lovely food to keep spectators and participants well fed and watered. There was even a film crew in action.
All in all, the “shortest sponsored walk ever”, as the organisers called it, was a great success and Arbus is proud to have supported it.
