Operations Director - Skanska
I thought I’d like to put out a BIG WELL DONE to all that have made a fantastic effort over the past few weeks to achieve where we are today on the A1 switch. Fantastic effort and collaboration from all those involved in making the switch go very smoothly and safely. It’s a pleasure to work with direct labour and sub-contractors who really care about safety and quality, and prove we can work in tight potentially dangerous areas by cordoning off their work sites to ensure plant pedestrian interface is maintained at all times and still get the job done on time. You are all a credit to your companies.

This scheme had challenged conventional approaches to barrier restraints. Working in collaboration with Arbus and Highways England, the team developed a really innovative approach that is already creating a safer environment for all. Arbus were innovative in their approach to designing this barrier solution and it was exciting to be involved following a long term relationships with the teams,
